You can also try putting down one patch then adding more of the the same one on top with some chorus or reverb or flange or even a phaser on each, and either stack them all dead center or as above pan them in various ways.

You can also take 3 of the same (or similar) patches, or even more and just do the same thing to each one to varying degrees, and cut a ton of low end on one, scoop the mids on another, and roll off a ton of high end on the third, maybe perhaps panning then opposite each other in whacky ways.
