Some of the videos show Marshall Faulk giving a pre-game overview and pick on who's going to win, along with a score. Then there's the boring and hatchet-job on field PA guy. I've not played in franchise or single game, but from the looks of the videos, you get a SINGLE commentator who sounds like he's in a bomb shelter talking on an AM radio. How about the on-field presentation? EA holds exclusive EPSN license, so they ought to have an awesome pre and post game, along with great commentary, right? Screen plays are even worse, nearly guaranteeing a fumble every time - consider yourself lucky if you get an incomplete pass. HB Draw plays are worthless, netting negative yards every time because the defensive AI is never fooled and the offensive line AI can't figure out where to open a hole. Right now it's the 9th week of the season and my defense has 48 INTs. The opposing QB gives up on average about the same, sometimes more. Right now, when I play a game, my QB gives up, on average, 4 INTs per game, with the current record being 6. I won't even get started on field goals.ДЄI quarterbacks are worthless. Place kickers (at least for the Steelers) are at best a 50/50 proposition. This has happened at least every other game. AND THEN GOES FOR IT ON 4th DOWN WITH A RUN!!! This has not happened once. What do you do? You grind out the clock, right? Not in this game!Д¬PU steps in and runs 3 straight PASS PLAYS. It's the 4th quarter, under 4 minutes to go and you have the ball.

It's truly mind-boggling how inept the AI is in this game. And this is set on All-Pro difficulty, the second hardest. The missed blocking assignments, the blown blocks, the constant deep throws into double and triple coverage, the passes to nobody in particular and the blatant passes TO the defenders.

The AI in this game is the most inept group of code I have ever seen.

I'm currently playing so the CPU is in control when I'm not on the field. We get into the pre-season and do all the workouts and everything - and this is when the wheels start to come off. Sure enough, 3rd round, I'm drafted by the Steelers. I said, yeah! I'd love to be a speedback for the Steelers. Same with the wonderful IQ test.Дraft day rolls around and when you enter the draft, it asks if being drafted by your favorite team (which you choose when you create your profile) would be ok. You still have your pre-draft workouts to hone those skills, nothing's changed in that department. A very nice way to do things - kudos for that! Want to be a speed back? Fine - but each one of those speed points costs you 25 from the pool. Instead of the incessant choosing of new parents, you start off with a pool of points and can assign them to different attributes.

This year is actually MUCH improved over 07. It starts with the creation of your character. So far I've only played in Superstar mode, so that is what I'm basing my opinion off. I thought, you know, Madden has had the last 3 years of exclusivity to get it right and it looks like this year, they finally did it. I saw the videos, I saw the animations, I saw all the neat new things and bought into the hype. Note To Spammers: We do not allow unsolicited advertising!
